The lasting impact of bequests-both large and small-will help shape Ave Maria University today. For many friends of AMU, a charitable bequest is the easiest and best way to make a gift to the University. By means of your will or other estate plan, you can name Ave Maria University as the beneficiary of a portion of your estate, or of particular assets in your estate.
There are many reasons to make a bequest. A bequest allows you to honor a loved one, while providing critical support to the University through the president's annual fund, or another fund supporting financial aid for AMU students. Dominick Medico attended an Open House in the Spring of 2013 and unknowingly joined the new football recruits on a tour of the campus. By the time the tour was over he was a true fan of the University.
"I was so impressed by the warm welcome and visit I received and by the mission of the University that I decided to remember AMU in my will," said Mr. Medico. "It is a powerful yet simple way to make a gift. I simply filled out a Bequest Intention form and mailed it back stating what I wish to leave to Ave Maria University in my will. I am now a member of the Legacy Society."
Medico wanted to leave a lasting impression at the University and decided to use his bequest to honor his late mother. "My wishes have been fulfilled knowing that my mother's name, Maria Domenica Medico, is visibly honored in the Oratory," said Medico. "I definitely feel that I'm committed to AMU and it's aspirations for the future of all students who go forward and become ambassadors of the University's mission. I am proud to be a supporter of AMU."
